We spent yesterday with Ian’s brother and his family because it was my brother-in-law’s birthday. It’s Ian’s birthday tomorrow so we went to their house for a casual joint celebration including a bracing dog walk and a delicious homemade lasagne. They had quite a bit of snow, so warm clothes were the order of the day.
Fair Isle Tank Top with Wide-Leg Jeans and Tan Accessories
This Fair Isle tank top was an impulse buy from Joules last week. I wanted something like this for years but never found one that I love, (or one without too much wool in it). I was thrilled to find this one. Joules has a *great selection of knitted tank tops in a variety of plain and patterned designs. This one is exactly what I’d been looking for. To elaborate a bit on the wool issue, I can’t wear wool without itching, so consequently, I rule many knits out. This one is composed of 10% wool, which is little enough not to cause concern when wearing a layer beneath.
This particular layer in this is the *Boden Supersoft Frill Detail Top in navy. I have this same top in black and in pink because they’re just so versatile. They’re ideal under a crew neck because the frill collar peeps out and they’re a bit more exciting than a plain crew neck.
My jeans are the *Relaxed Wide-Leg, also from Boden. I’m wearing the long length (I’m 175cm, 5 ft 9 for reference). Jeans, in my opinion, are one of the hardest items of clothing to get right, so I’m very happy with this pair. I love the silhouette and the way they fall. I like navy with tan, so I wore my Adidas Sambas in tan leather and my Ava bag with woven strap from Dutch brand O My Bag.
