These are the outfits I wore in Sicily when I was there in late September/early October. I wrote a more comprehensive blog post here about what I packed to take with me. This blog shows most of those outfits in action- (I didn’t get photographs of all of them). The weather was glorious. The temperature was glorious with daytime temperatures of 24-29 celsius. It got cooler in the evening than it would in the height of summer so if I went at the same time of year, I’d take a scarf or pashmina for evening al-fresco dining. As it happened, most restaurants offered blankets which I gratefully accepted.
Most of my holiday wardrobe is from previous seasons but I have linked everything that is still current.
Me + Em Cap Sleeve Textured Dress
I am in love with this *Me + Em textured ponte dress in bright fern. I had my eye on it for months before I finally bought it and it hasn’t disappointed. It is beautifully cut in a mid weight ponte fabric in a long midi length. It has pockets and fits true to size. This dress is also available in white and in navy. It is currently reduced and there are some sizes left in each of the three colours. I think this is my favourite of the outfits I wore in Sicily.
Boden Skirt Co-Ord
It was the multi-coloured botanical print, (called Ivory Bluebell), that caught my eye when I was scrolling through the Boden website. This fabric is carried through in swimwear, dresses, a jacket and even some shoes. There are a *few sizes left at the time of writing. The top is described as cropped and it is slightly, but as you can see from yhe photos, it really only does sit slightly above the waistband. It fastens with a cute zip at the back. The skirt is a beautiful shape- it hangs well and has pockets. I wore it with flat sandals on two occasions becuase we were walking some distance for dinner, but it looks fabulous with heels and because of the print, it works with accessories of almost any colour and definitely every prime.
Aspiga Victoria Broderie Dress
Victoria is a lovely, romantic dress by Aspiga London. It comes in several different colours, (some of which are reduced), different lengths and different fabrics, including a stunning navy sequin version for party season as well as sumptuous corduroys. The broderie version is lined and is a nice weight for summer evenings. The v-neck and fit and flare skirt are very flattering; overall a very versatile dress.
Yellow farm Rio Dress
This is one of my all time favourite holiday dresses. I bought it last year and have wore it in Seville, Conil, Calpe, Melbourne, Christchurch and now Palermo. I cannot imagine ever wearing it here in the UK- to me it epitomises glorious foreign climes and hot sunshine. It brings me so much joy. Farm Rio is a fabulous brand and one that is well worth looking at for fabulous resortwear.
Miguelina Crochet Dress
I bought this dress to wear the day after our wedding and then on honeymoon because it reminded me of my wedding dress. Miguelina is a Spanish brand but Net-a-Porter do stock a selection. My dress is out of stock now but there are some with a similar aesthetic.
Boden Lemon Print Dress
If I had to choose a dress to make me feel Sicilian, this Boden lemon print dress would be it. I love anything to do with lemons, so much so, I have shorts and a top in this same Boden print. I almost didn’t pack it though, because I wear ot so often but I’m glad I did. Everywhere we turned were items adorned with lemons so I felt most at home.
